Student Ministry FAQ’s

Here are some answers to questions you might have before coming to Antioch Students

  • How/where Students can serve?

  • All students who regularly attend student ministry are eligible to participate in our “student serve” initiative. This is an opportunity for any student who wants to serve to spend one Sunday a month when they would otherwise be in small group and help lead a kids ministry class.

  • For those students who have become members at Antioch, there are several other serving opportunities including mission trips, student greeters, student worship team, student AVL team, kids hype team, kids ministry, and many others!

  • Photo Waiver + Release?

  • During various times and events throughout the year, we will occasionally have photographs taken to share on social media or print for our photo wall. If you wish for your student's image NOT to be shared, please fill out the attached form here and drop it by the office.

  • How do small groups work?

  • During the school year (August-April) students meet in small groups generally consisting of other students of the same gender and grade. High School groups currently meet on Sunday mornings and middle school groups meet on Wednesday nights.

  • Who are volunteers leading small groups?

  • Our group leaders are men and women who are members at Antioch and have a passion for discipling others. Each volunteer has been interviewed, trained on current best practices for child protection, and has passed a regularly recurring background check.

  • How does drop off and pick up work?

  • Most of our students will be greeted by our gatekeepers and check themselves in prior to coming to the student wing. Following the end of the event or service, students are dismissed to find their parents in the lobby or café area.

  • Retreats/Events offered?

  • Our desire is to offer a minimum of two overnight events each year consisting of our summer camp (M-F) and a winter retreat (F-S). For more information on these events click here.

  • How do we pick our teaching curriculum/what do we teach out of?

  • Our philosophy is that the best practice for growing in our walk with Christ is to systematically work verse-by-verse through one book of the bible at a time. However, on occasion, there is a need to address a single topic or issue. At Antioch Student Ministry this looks mostly like exegetical studies throughout the school year and a topical series in the summer.

  • Membership?

  • Just like adults, we strongly encourage our students to make the commitment and investment of church membership here at Antioch! For more information on church membership click here.
