Antioch Sensory Kids

  • We meet on Sundays during the 10:30 service.

  • We are located in the Kids Center on the first floor.

Three to Eighteen Years Old

Antioch’s Sensory Room is designed to provide a calm environment for kids and teens with additional needs where they can learn more about Jesus and His love for us!  Low lighting, balloons, bubbles, sensory toys and music alongside a calming corner with puppets, weighted blankets and soft huggables, help support your loved ones’ sensory preferences! We study the Bible, work on Bible memory, pray, do mission projects - just as every class does each Sunday at Antioch, but adapt each lesson to meet individual needs! We want everyone to know what Jesus has done for us and how important we all are to Him!

Going to church is a special time where we learn about God.

I go to church with my family or friends.

I can go to a classroom where I will learn about the story of Jesus.

We could do fun activities or rest.

My teachers will take care of me.

When church is over, my parents will come and get me.

Looking for a Buddy?

Being a ‘Buddy’ refers to offering one-on-one support to someone that might have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their Sunday School classroom with their peers!  It could include being a buddy to an elementary or a high school student depending on current needs in the church. A Buddy will assist their VIP - Very Important Person - with the classroom activities, helping them to participate, redirecting attention to the lesson, and allowing them to participate fully.  Most importantly - have fun! The great news is, it’s not necessary to be an expert on an individual’s disability!  Training can be provided!

The primary requirements for being a Buddy?  Having a heart to love and help others grow in Christ to fulfill our mission as a church of Making Disciples of Jesus Christ Everywhere!

  • Photos and/or videos may be taken during events such as camp and serving events. If you wish to express written consent, or if you do not wish for your or your child's likeness to be displayed on Antioch's social media, please complete this form and turn it into the church office
